چکیده
Based on morphological and molecular evidence, two new species of Silene are recognized described here, S. penduliflora F.Jafari, Keshavarzi & Doostm. sp. nov. thyrsiantha Mirtadz. The newly discovered distributed in the central southeastern parts Iran, growing rocky habitats. Relationships among these their close relatives demonstrated using nrDNA ITS cpDNA rps16 phylogenies. ghahremaninejadii, parrowiana, shahrudensis form a clade with species. A key to is provided.

Correction: Marginal Likelihood Estimate Comparisons to Obtain Optimal Species Delimitations in Silene sect. Cryptoneurae (Caryophyllaceae)
Coalescent-based inference of phylogenetic relationships among species takes into account gene tree incongruence due to incomplete lineage sorting, but for such methods to make sense species have to be correctly delimited. Because alternative assignments of individuals to species result in different parametric models, model selection methods can be applied to optimise model of species classific...

Silene is represented by c. 110 species in flora of Iran which growing mainly in the mountainous areas. During several expeditions to different regions of Iran (Tehran, Semnan, Kerman, Kermanshah and Kohgiluyeh va Boyer-Ahmad Provinces) some interesting specimens were collected. S. caucasica, is introduced as a new record for the flora of Iran. Five interesting and very restricted Iranian endem...
متن کاملTWO NEW SPECIES OF ALCEA FROM IRAN
Two new species of Alcea L. (Malvaceae)in Iran, namely, A. iranshahrii from Fars Province and A. mazandaranica from Mazandaran Province are described. Their descriptions and taxonomic relationships are also given. In addition, seed coat microsculpturing is examined using Environmental Scanning Electron Microscope (ESEM). The seed coat patterns observed are fairly uniformed among the genus. It w...
متن کاملin Silene latifolia (Caryophyllaceae)
• Sex ratio polymorphism has been extensively studied in Silene latifolia, but it is neither known whether inbreeding (which is likely to occur under field conditions) affects it nor which of the proposed mechanisms (Y degeneration, X-linked drive) is more important. Both mechanisms predict reduced pollen performance. • In this study, females were crossed with pollen from related and unrelated ...
